Talk Cinema On The Floor – A Space Where Stories Begin

New Delhi Film Foundation (NDFF) is proud to introduce its newest initiative — Talk Cinema On The Floor — a dynamic, recurring series of interactive gatherings designed to bring together filmmakers, writers, performers, producers, content creators, cinephiles, and film enthusiasts under one roof. This isn’t just another event — it’s the beginning of a community, a tribe of storytellers and seekers committed to meaningful cinema.

Through curated sessions, special guest interactions, creative showcases, project pitching opportunities, and informal networking, Talk Cinema On The Floor aims to bridge the gap between dreams and doing — making filmmaking, collaboration, and artistic exchange more accessible and action-driven.
But it doesn’t end there.
This platform also acts as the foundation for NDFF’s “Make Cinema” campaign — a parallel initiative to support the production of six short films in six months, mentored by professionals and developed from the creative energy generated in TCOTF sessions. Whether you’re a writer with a script, a director with a vision, or a student with curiosity — this space is meant for you.

Who Should Join and Why?
Participants include (but are not limited to): students, film enthusiasts, film scholars, writers, screenwriters, directors, independent filmmakers, actors, photographers, cinematographers, video and film editors, sound professionals, art directors, production designers, line producers, film investors, creative entrepreneurs, social media influencers, and artists from all allied artforms of filmmaking.
Whether you’re seeking collaboration, mentorship, visibility, funding, or just a supportive space to grow, Talk Cinema On The Floor gives you the community, access, and ecosystem to take the next step in your creative or professional journey.
With Talk Cinema On The Floor, NDFF is strengthening its mission to build a practical, purpose-driven ecosystem for both artistic expression and professional development in Delhi-NCR. It welcomes fiction and non-fiction formats, documentaries, experimental narratives, and all forms of visual storytelling that carry conviction, passion, and purpose.
At the heart of Talk Cinema On The Floor are three dynamic and purpose-driven segments designed to inspire and empower every participant. The power packed and opening segment ‘Craft & Crew’ offers focused, practical knowledge from a film trainer or working expert on a key cinematic department — from writing and direction to cinematography, editing, or sound. A crisp master class one can say. Another important segment ‘Spotlight’ brings a special guest from the world of cinema or allied arts to share sharp insights and lived experiences. And the most interactive, ‘Take the Floor: The 5-Minute Window’, gives selected audience members the chance to present their talent, pitch an idea, or connect with collaborators — live, on stage. Together, these segments create a rare space where learning meets opportunity and conversations lead to action.

Each Talk Cinema On The Floor session also serves as a touchpoint for our parallel initiative — the Make Cinema campaign. Officially announced during the inaugural session, this campaign aims to produce a series of short films that reflect conviction, creativity, and social purpose. From call for entries to mentoring, production, and showcasing, the progress and processes of Make Cinema will be regularly shared and discussed in every TCOTF session — offering aspiring filmmakers a real opportunity to be part of meaningful storytelling.

This is your invitation — not just to attend, but to engage. To find your tribe, pitch your ideas, share your vision, or simply listen and be inspired.
NDFF is launching this initiative on Saturday, 28th June 2025 in collaboration with Sri Aurobindo Centre for Arts & Creativity (SACAC) and Media & Entertainment Skill Council (MESC).
The venue of the naugural session is SACAC, Sri Aurobindo Society Campus, Shaheed Jeet Singh Marg, Adchini, New Delhi, Delhi 110017. It will be a crisp 2 hours session and is scheduled to start at 9am. The session will be followed by a Networking Tea.
Let’s build the cinema culture we want to see. On the floor. Together.
